Islam does not prevent a woman from looking her best in beautiful clothes, as long as she keeps her modesty and covers her hair and body properly according to Islamic ethics. Unlike Western culture which exploits their women by making them dress in not only a provocative manner but also expose their hair and breasts, Islamic clothing sets a proper guideline to uphold the highest standards of morality and ethics, as enjoined in the Qur’an and ordained by God Almighty himself. Indeed, we can see that more and more choices of modest mainstream styles are available to Muslim women day by day. One can look in their best even when wearing an Abaya or even a Jilbab AND Jelbab, without looking like the odd one out and even show their good fashion sense.

More brick-and-mortar shops are popping up in most Western countries, and online shops that specialize in modest conventional clothing for the Muslim market are growing in large numbers as well. This is certainly most evident when you visit the Desert Store website which is dedicated to selling this niche products. One is spoiled for choice at the large availability of Caftan/Tunic & Blouse or Formal Dress/Gown and Caftan/Kaftan products which are made available at this online store. Check it out today, you will not regret it.

The Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) urges Malaysians of all races and religions to remain calm following street protests by a group Indian Malaysians led by Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) on Sunday.

ABIM notes with deep concern that some of the actions and contents of various documents issued by HINDRAF, in substance and wordings constitute extreme, exagerated and sensationalised allegations implicating the Muslim community in one way or another. The use of terms and expressions such as “ethnic cleansing”, “permanent colonization” of Indian Malaysians by ” Islamic extremists” “Malay gangs” and the like is clearly racially and religiously unjustified, seditious and borders on the subversive.

However, we believe that this should not be the basis for any unwarranted reactions from the Muslim community. We believe that although there may be grievances amongst the Indian community, the majority of our peace-loving Indian friends and mainstream Hindu organizations do not harbor ill will or undue enmity against the Muslims and are also not agreeable to the manner, style and approach erstwhile adopted by HINDRAF. We would also like to reaffirm our solidarity with the poor and marginalized amongst the Indian community and other races in this country and urge the government and all parties to undertake continuous effort to improve their livelihood.

Let us all be reminded that issues involving racial and religious interests in our multi-communal society are very delicate, sensitive and potentially explosive. Those who are fighting for racial and religious interests should learn from our past history that such issues, if not carefully handled, may cause tensions to flare up. When emotions are left unchecked and the communal temperature is too high, there’s no guarantee that public order and safety can be maintained.

ABIM condemns all forms of racial and and religious extremism and urges peace-loving Malaysians not to take actions that may jeopardize peace, harmony, public order and safety in the country. Although the freedom of assembly and expression are recognised fundamental rights under our Constitution and should generally be exercisable by all citizens, the relevant authorities should be allowed to regulate the exercise of such rights taking into account the circumstances of each case. At the same time we urge the police to observe due restraint and be reasonable in exercising their discretion in handling the situation. We also believe that the current situation is such that it is very irresponsible and dangerous for anyone to manipulate this issue to fan racial sentiments for any political or ulterior agendas.

YUSRI MOHAMAD
President

On a side note, The Islamoholic was at the rally and as was originally suspected, there were no Islam Liberal chickens running around. Fortunate or unfortunately, that depends on how you see it. I love it when I am proven right all the time.

The Islamoholic would like to congratulate all those who were involved in the BERSIH rally last Saturday. You deserve the congratulations even though you realised that things could have gotten nasty. But alhamdulillah, everything went well. It should be noted that the organisers of the protest issued a directive for those wishing to participate in the rally, which The Islamoholic received as follows:

This is of course only the beginning. Calling for democratic reform is going to be a long and hard process, and it does not end with just a rally (or even a series of rallies). Too many issues need to be resolved and the masses educated about them before one can hope for some sort of change in the electoral process. I pray that the day for that is not too far away.

On a side note, The Islamoholic was at the rally and as was originally suspected, there were no Islam Liberal chickens running around. Fortunate or unfortunately, that depends on how you see it.

I love it when I am proven right all the time.

It will be a historic rally and certainly an event not to be missed. The Islamoholic implores that all Muslim Malaysians come in droves to this event in show of support for free and fair democratic elections in the country. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the renowned mujtahid of current times had indeed stated in one of his fiqh books that one of the legal ways to overthrow a government and initiate change in an administration is to participate in peaceful rallies or demonstrations against tyranny and oppression. In other words, it is an Islamic duty to struggle for justice and fight dictatorship.

Little of course should be said for the Islam Liberal hypocrites. We are 100% certain that they will not be attending, despite what they may say to the contrary.

Bid for position directories are currently one of the popular methods on the World Wide Web, and there are many web directories which are following this new concept. In order to get a listing in this type of directory, all you have to do is to bid for your link position according to the minimum bid, and add to it in order to improve its position. Basically, the idea behind it is that the more you pay for your link, the higher the position of your link compared to others. There is certainly something alluring about this new way of advertising and we feel that gaining attention and traffic via bid for position directories is certainly around to stay for a long time.

In the tradition of Muslim orthodoxy (as opposed to the Islam Liberals who will certainly not fast at all in Ramadhaan since they are….well, hypocrites), The Islamoholic greets the incoming blessed Ramadhaan with joy and grace. Marhaban, ya Ramadhaan. Marhaban, marhaban, marhaban! May Allah subhana wa ta’ala unite the Muslims in the spirit of Ramadhaan and may the act of fasting increase our piety and taqwa of our Rabb.

Something which the Liberal Islam heretics certainly very much lack, The Islamoholic certainly feels. In fact, its very easy to spot a Liberal Islam heretic in Ramadhaan. If you see a so-called “Muslim” eating in this Holy Month, then it means that the person in question is without a doubt a Liberal!
