It will be a historic rally and certainly an event not to be missed. The Islamoholic implores that all Muslim Malaysians come in droves to this event in show of support for free and fair democratic elections in the country. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the renowned mujtahid of current times had indeed stated in one of his fiqh books that one of the legal ways to overthrow a government and initiate change in an administration is to participate in peaceful rallies or demonstrations against tyranny and oppression. In other words, it is an Islamic duty to struggle for justice and fight dictatorship.
Little of course should be said for the Islam Liberal hypocrites. We are 100% certain that they will not be attending, despite what they may say to the contrary.

I find it odd that you are turning this into an ‘Islam’ thing. Not only that, I am amazed at your chauvinistic attitude towards Muslims who do not interpret the religion as you do - narrowly and without a whiff of inclusiveness. I was at the rally today, by the way. Me and my fellow kafir friends. Lots of us. Lots and lots and lots and lots of us. Plus our Muslim friends whom you’d probably label as ‘Islam liberal’ because they don’t share your worship of Yusuf Qaradhawi, or PAS, or Anwar Ibrahim. When your so-called ‘true Muslim’ protesters got arrested, I have it on good authority that several kafir lawyers and lawyers whom you’d be quick to label as ‘Islam liberal’ were braving the police, demanding the release of the prisoners. People like you are not only an embarrassment to the larger democratic ideals of a rally like BERSIH’s, but you are an embarrassment to the better Malaysia that the rest of us are working so hard to create for each other.
[The Islamoholic: You don't even know the definition of "Islam Liberal" so who are you to tell us what is a Liberal and what is not?]

It was indeed a historic occasion, where Malaysians of all colours, religions and persuasions came together for a better Malaysia. Shame that your vision of Malaysia is one where this wouldn’t be possible.
[The Islamoholic: We certainly do not think that you know what our "vision" for Malaysia is in the first place.]

Well Islamoholic,
What a distorted idea you have of the whole democratic process and demands for freedom, justice and equality. Seriously, I don’t give a damn about what religion you are or the thousands of people who were there at the rally on Saturday. To me, what was most important was the bangsa malaysia who believed in the ideals of democracy and freedom who came to express themselves, and not forgetting those who still supported it fully even if they were not at the march.
What is with the holier-than-thou attitude against the liberal muslims? For you to have that mentality only shows that you cannot truly appreciate human equality and democracy. And I am happy to say that your arrogant “100% certain they won’t be attending” is nothing but selfish and self-righteous.
My hats off to all who defend democracy and believe in equality for all.
[The Islamoholic: This blog deals with the issue of Liberal Islam and that is what exactly yours truly intends to do. If the issue does not concern you, then buzz off, it has nothing whatsoever to do with you.]
