Sometimes I shake my head in the sheer amazement at these type of people who on the one hand, want to claim to be “Muslim” and arrogate themselves to the position of interpreting the Qur’anic text while on the other, reject their label of being a “Muslim” and prefer to call themselves by any other label apart from Islam. The problem with these people is that they see all religions as being “equal”, when in the Qur’an itself it is said as follows.

“The religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.” (Qur’an, 3:19)

In another verse of the Holy Qur’an, Allah states:

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (their selves in the hell fire).” (Qur’an 3:85)

Of course this does not mean that a Muslim should take out his sword and charge after non-Muslims and chase them out from where ever they are staying. It simply means that once you profess the Shahadah, there are boundaries to be drawn between the Muslim and the non-Muslim, rules or ethics to be followed between a Muslim and a non-Muslim.

The Islamoholic sometimes wonder how badly these people contradict themselves when it comes to even the simplest of Qur’anic injunctions. And they call us the fundamentalist *roll eyes*

Here is yet another verse in the Qur’an for pondering.

Thou wilt not find folk who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His messenger: even though they be their fathers or their sons or their brethren or their clan. As for such, He hath written faith upon their hearts and hath strengthened them with a Spirit from Him, and He will bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide. Allah is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. They are Allah’s party. Lo! is it not Allah’s party who are the successful? (Qur’an, 58.22)

Some people really need to study themselves in retrospect before opening their big mouth wide open and make a total embarrassment out of themselves when talking about religion, particularly Islam. Its not the place of The Islamoholic at this juncture to make comments about the person’s state of belief or kufr (I dislike making absolute judgements about whether one is a believer or a disbeliever when I have no authority to say so), but reading that particular post, someone sure has issues with her state of aqeedah.

And its definitely certain that someone is on the brink of apostasy. The Islamoholic can only pray that the person in question truly receives al-Huda before it is too late.
